This policy explains what information Parity collects when you use parityops.com, how that information is stored, and what rights you have over it. Parity is operated as a small editorial publication. We collect as little as we need, and we never sell your personal information.
What we collect
Anonymous analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is being used. This collects standard browser information, pages viewed, country, device type, referring source. It does not collect your name or email. Google sets cookies on your device to do this. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with a content blocker; the site works without them.
Information you submit through forms
When you fill out a form on the site (email signup, complaint, application, tip submission, invoice upload), the information you provide is sent to us through a third-party form service:
- Email signups are stored by Mailchimp (mailchimp.com), which manages our subscriber list.
- Complaint, application and tip forms are processed by Formspree (formspree.io), which delivers the submission to our editorial inbox.
- Owner videos and photos for verified listings are uploaded through a Dropbox file request (dropbox.com).
- Application drafts are saved in your own browser's storage on your device while you fill in the form, so you can come back to it. Nothing is sent to us until you submit.
Information you submit may include your name, email, phone number, business name, address, license number, an uploaded invoice or document, and any free-text content (the body of your complaint, your tip, etc.). You provide this voluntarily; we don't pull it from anywhere else.
Information we do not collect
We don't ask for, store, or process payment card information. We don't track you across other websites. We never sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone.
What we may license, and what we never sell
We never sell, rent or trade the personal information you give us: your contact details, your application or complaint, your license number, your documents, or your video or photo. Parity's own research about who owns home-service companies, the public facts shown on directory listings (business name, trade, area, verification status) and anonymous totals (for example, how many independent companies a county has) may be licensed to others. None of that includes the personal information you submit.
How we use what you submit
Your information is used for the specific purpose you submitted it for:
- If you sign up for sale alerts, you get one email when a company near you is sold. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- If you file a complaint, we send it to the company it is about so they can make it right. The details are never published; a company’s page shows only counts.
- Tip submissions are used to research and verify potential Ownership Record entries. Sources are kept confidential unless you give us explicit written permission to publish your name.
- Application submissions are reviewed for verification. We may contact you to schedule the owner intro video or to verify your license.
- If you send a video for your listing, it is posted on Parity’s YouTube channel and shown on your Parity page.
- An invoice or receipt you upload with a complaint is used only to confirm that the job took place. It is not published.
How Parity is paid
Parity is free for homeowners. It is paid for by an optional $49.99 membership for verified owners, which buys promotion and extras, never the badge, and it may license its own research and anonymous totals. Parity never sells personal information or leads.
How long we keep it
- Email subscriber data: until you unsubscribe.
- Form submissions: retained by Formspree according to their retention policy. We periodically delete from our editorial inbox after we've acted on the submission.
- Analytics data: retained according to Google Analytics defaults (currently up to 14 months).
Your rights
You can:
- Unsubscribe from email at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send you.
- Request a copy of any information we hold about you by emailing hello@parityops.com.
- Request deletion of your information by emailing hello@parityops.com. We'll act within 30 days unless we have a legal reason to retain it.
- Opt out of analytics by using a content blocker or by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser.
Residents of the European Union, United Kingdom, and California have additional rights under their respective laws. Email us at the address above to invoke them.
Children
Parity is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy. When we do, we'll change the "Effective" date at the top. For material changes, we'll notify subscribers by email.
