Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Parity collects when you use parityops.com, how that information is stored, and what rights you have over it. Parity is operated as a small editorial publication. We collect as little as we need and we never sell your data.
What we collect
Anonymous analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is being used. This collects standard browser information โ pages viewed, country, device type, referring source. It does not collect your name or email. Google sets cookies on your device to do this. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with a content blocker; the site works without them.
Information you submit through forms
When you fill out a form on the site (email signup, complaint, application, tip submission, invoice upload), the information you provide is sent to us through a third-party form service:
- Email signups are stored by Mailchimp (mailchimp.com), which manages our subscriber list.
- Complaint, application, tip, and invoice forms are processed by Formspree (formspree.io), which delivers the submission to our editorial inbox.
Information you submit may include your name, email, phone number, business name, address, license number, an uploaded invoice or document, and any free-text content (the body of your complaint, your tip, etc.). You provide this voluntarily; we don't pull it from anywhere else.
Information we do not collect
We don't ask for, store, or process payment card information. We don't track you across other websites. We don't sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties for marketing purposes.
How we use what you submit
Your information is used for the specific purpose you submitted it for:
- Email subscribers receive newsletters from us until they unsubscribe.
- Complaint submissions are reviewed by our editorial team. We may follow up with you for clarification before publication.
- Tip submissions are used to research and verify potential Wall of Shame entries. Sources are kept confidential unless you give us explicit written permission to publish your name.
- Application submissions are reviewed for verification. We may contact you to schedule the owner intro video or to verify your license.
- Uploaded invoices may be published as part of our public price-transparency database. If we publish, we redact personal information first โ name, address, phone โ and we will never publish without your consent (see "User-Submitted Content" in our Terms of Use).
How long we keep it
- Email subscriber data: until you unsubscribe.
- Form submissions: retained by Formspree according to their retention policy. We periodically delete from our editorial inbox after we've acted on the submission.
- Analytics data: retained according to Google Analytics defaults (currently up to 14 months).

Children
